Swimming is more than just tedious lengths up and down a crowded pool, trying not to get your hair wet. To be able to swim confidently allows you to enjoy sailing, kayaking, surfing and a whole host of other sports. Regardless of age, size or physical ability, swimming is also an effective non-impact, aerobic activity that strengthens and tones every part of your body.
If you have ever had a bad experience trying to learn how to swim, or are otherwise very nervous of the water, personal swimming tuition is perfect for getting you used to the water at your own pace. Learn to swim at the level you want, whether it's a few lengths or just feeling comfortable putting your face in. Sessions are available on a one-to-one basis or in pairs if you'd like to bring moral support!
If you are a competent swimmer and would like to refine your stroke technique or learn training methods for an upcoming race or charity event, private sessions can be booked on a one-to-one basis or small group. Even if you aren't training for anything in particular, you may benefit from private training sessions purely to improve your cardiovascular fitness. Pool sessions can be combined with dry land training sessions to improve muscular tone, strength and endurance and weekly training plans can be arranged for you to work on in your own time.
Open water swimming and open water swim training is also available where you can build up stamina for long distance swimming or simply enjoy the experience of swimming outdoors in natural unchlorinated water. Wetsuits are available for hire and Angela can provide tips on technique, swim alongside you for support or provide training plans, video analysis and race advice.
If you have a child who cannot swim, or who is struggling to achieve in their swimming lessons, one-to-one sessions can be extremely useful in overcoming sticking points or giving them the extra time and attention they need to get through to the next level.
